Jason Britt - Partner
Jason Britt is an experienced litigator who represents doctors, nurses, and health care facilities against claims of malpractice. Jason has a significant trial and appellate experience in civil and criminal matters. He began his practice as a public defender in Virginia, where he defended clients faced with serious felonies in Virginia’s trial and appellate courts. Armed with this experience, Jason returned to New York and transitioned to a civil litigation practice.
Since returning to New York, Jason has represented clients in New York’s State and Federal Courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums such as mediation and arbitration. Jason defends clients faced with both traditional medical malpractice and statutory claims under the Public Health Law. He is well versed in the legislative and regulatory requirements facing health care providers face as they try to provide the best quality of care for their patients and residents. Jason is a frequent lecturer on a wide variety of topics including risk management, long-term care liability, electronic document discovery, and electronic medical records.
Although Jason focuses on defending claims of medical malpractice and long-term care negligence, he also defends clients against other claims such as general liability, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability. Jason’s criminal defense experience includes defending individuals charged with all manner of serious drug offenses, violent crimes, and allegations of sexual abuse or assault.
